Community Involvement
Community Involvement,
Charitable Giving & Fundraising
Newcomers isn't just a social activity club! Our membership is a talented, caring group of individuals and we want to share our talents with and give back to our community!
Each year Newcomers' selects a local charity as the beneficiary of the club's fundraising activities.
In years past we have hosted a family concert at the Tivoli Theatre performed by well-know artist Justin Roberts. We also hold an annual Year End Celebration with basket & raffle auctions. Each year we donate a portion of our proceeds to our selected charity for that year.
The club encourages member involvement with this selected charity. Not only do we have the opportunity to donate financially, but we can also participate in service projects for our chosen organization.
Members also have the chance to volunteer at many community events such as the Downers Grove Heritage Fest and the Bike and Buggy Parade.

A sincere thank you goes to all the businesses who donated to our 2011 Fundraising Events - Affair with Flair and Year-End Spring Soiree raffle.

We selected Almost Home Kids in order to help a local organization. The mission of Almost Home Kids is to provide transitional care in a home-like setting to children with complicated health needs, training for their families and respite care.

Over 20 local artisans and vendors will showcase a variety of items including handcrafted jewelry, handbags, home decor, children's clothing and accessories, and more. A perfect venue to find unique gifts for special occasions such as Mother's Day, teacher appreciation, birthdays, graduations, baby showers, wedding showers, and anniversaries! Or just treat yourself!
